Updates:

At the start of this year, I shared one of my personal goals: to step more fully into public speaking.

Iโ€™m excited to let you know that goal is already taking shapeโ€”Iโ€™ve officially acceptedย two speaking events this November!

๐Ÿ“ย Utah (BYU)ย โ€“ Iโ€™ll be speaking with dance educators on how to unlock creativity in their students by helping them overcome self-limiting beliefs.

๐Ÿ“ย Bostonย โ€“ Iโ€™ll be presenting at a large fitness conference, showing coaches and trainers how to get their clients better results by getting them out of their own way.

This is a big step for me, and I couldnโ€™t be more grateful for the opportunities. And Iโ€™ll admit something personalโ€”Iโ€™m nervous.

Itโ€™s one thing to set the intention, but itโ€™s another beast when it becomes reality. We all struggle with these feelings, and I think itโ€™s important not to hide them from you.

Iโ€™ll be sharing takeaways and behind-the-scenes insights with you along the way, so you can apply the same tools Iโ€™m teaching on stage to your own goals.

From Halo Top to Real Ice Cream: How I Finally Found Food Freedom

Takeaway: This article discusses two memoriesโ€”The first in 2017, a basket full of Halo Top โ€œhealthi-fiedโ€ ice cream. Driven by rigid diet rules and fear of regaining all the weight Iโ€™d lost.

The second, 2025. A vacation to San Diego eating real ice cream without guilt or shame. Not worried about my weight because Iโ€™ve learned the skills to manage it and enjoy life.


Youโ€™re Overthinking Packing

Takeaway: Something I learned during a six month stint of constant travelโ€”it doesnโ€™t have to be that complicated or stressful. (This is especially true when traveling domestically.)

This article echoes that sentiment.

Forget something? You can almost always buy it on-location. Donโ€™t stress out.

But Iโ€™ll admit, it helps to be a minimalist when it comes to fashion and clothing in general. (My friends poke fun that I have a โ€œuniformโ€ because I wear the same outfit most days.)

This means I pack most of the clothes I own for every trip, and it all fits inside a carry-on suitcase. No mess. No stress. Just a load of laundry and enough experience to know how it all best fits inside the suitcase.

Also, a game-changer for longer international trips was to book and AirBnB or hotel around the half-way point that has a washer/dryer or access to laundry services. (This allowed me to pack for one week instead of two.)


The Victim Mentality: A Silent Killer of Growth

Takeaway: The Victim Mentality is the meshing of a few key psychological beliefsโ€ฆ

Combat the adoption of a victim mentality by doing the opposite:

Focus on what you have direct control over.

Focus on making progress.
