You know what makes me a terrible influencer?
The same things that make me a great coach.
I’m not here to flood your feed with gimmicks. I’m here to help you change your life. That means my approach looks very different from the flashy “lose 10 pounds in 10 days” trends making the rounds on TikTok and Instagram.
Here are three qualities that would tank my influencer career—but consistently help my clients transform their lives.
1. Context Is Everything
Influencers thrive on one-size-fits-all advice:
- “Cut out carbs.”
- “Never eat after 8 PM.”
- “No chemicals in your diet.”
They have to keep it simple—there’s no room for nuance in a 20-second reel. But coaching is all about context. Two people can eat the same calories and get wildly different results. Two people can follow the same program and have opposite experiences.
Your history, habits, schedule, stress levels, and relationship with food all matter. That’s why in coaching, we ask questions, dig for patterns, and tailor the approach. Without context, even the “right” plan can fail you.
2. A Relentless Focus on the Timeless Basics
Influencers need novelty to survive—the latest diet, the newest hack, the “secret” tip. But our coaching is basically the New Balance sneakers of fitness: not flashy, not trendy, but always there to support you when it counts.
The fundamentals aren’t exciting, but they work every single time:
- Eating enough protein
- Hitting a consistent calorie range
- Strength training 2–4x per week
- Walking more
- Getting quality sleep
So why has it been so hard to stick to them?
Because it’s rarely about discipline. We’ve spent years uncovering the psychological roots of weight struggles—the habits, beliefs, and triggers that sabotage progress. For many, it’s stress eating, fear of change, or years of yo-yo dieting that erode self-trust.
When we address those deeper patterns, the basics stop feeling like an uphill battle. Suddenly, consistency feels natural—and results follow.
3. I Listen More Than I Talk
Social media rewards the loudest voice. Coaching rewards the most attentive one.
When we work together, I listen more than I lecture. It’s in the small details—the throwaway comments, the “I don’t know why I did that” moments—where we discover what’s really been keeping you stuck.
If you’ve been dieting for years, chances are you don’t need another person barking orders. You need someone to actually hear you. To notice patterns you can’t see yet. To connect the dots so you can finally break them.
Why This Makes Me a Terrible Influencer
There’s nothing flashy about context, timeless basics, or deep listening. They don’t grab clicks, they don’t make for viral headlines, and they don’t promise instant gratification.
But they do something better: they work. Every. Single. Time.
If you’ve been stuck in the “new plan → lose motivation → gain it back → repeat” cycle, maybe you don’t need more trendy advice. Maybe you need a coach who’s in it for your long-term success—even if it’s not Instagram-friendly.
